Our trip along the #FreedomTrail in #Boston started at the #BunkerHillMonument in #Charlestown where we got brunch at #MonumentrestaurantandTavern . After brunch we drove to #BostonCommon to park in the garage there and walk the rest of the trail. First stop was #GranaryBuryingGround a historic graveyard full of famous people. There was a guy at the entrance handing out a booklet with a map and history of who was buried there so no need for a tour guide! Next stop was the #OmniHotelBoston for the original #BostonCremePie and some coffee. Our seats in the bar overlooked a school the Benjamin Franklin attended and his statue was outside. Dessert was worth the stop. The bar and hotel are gorgeous and make a great place to rest if you’ve been going all day plus they have very nice restrooms upstairs. If you don’t have time then you can get Boston Creme flavored stuff all over the city. Next was many of the old buildings, courthouses and meeting houses which were significant places in the Revolutionary War. When we got to #QuincyMarket and #Faneuilhall we stopped for some photo ops and to watch some of the performers. This is a good place to get food if you haven’t already. They have tons of restaurant stalls. The #NorthEnd was the last area for the day for us. This is where the #PaulRevere statue is and his house, along with some very old restaurants like the #UnionOysterHouse and #LittleItaly are. When you are over in little Italy most people will recommend getting a cannoli at Mike’s Pastry, but know that the lines are insanely long. On the way back to our car we went through the #NewEnglandHolocaustMemorial which is a very sad reminder of the lost lives of the Holocaust. It was a very well done monument and is worth the stop. Our last stop was by complete accident. We were trying to take a shortcut back to the car and came across this sign for Boston. It’s not on the freedom trail but should be easy to find with a little research. You can see it in my last post. So there you have it one day through Boston seeing the major sights. There is a ton more to see and do! #BOS #Bostonma #newengland #falltrips #weekendgetaway #massachusetts #masshole #otherworldlytravels
One day in #Boston was definitely not enough. We did a lot in that short amount of time but there was still so much to do. I will definitely be going back for more museums, food, and history. ▫️
Traffic definitely sucks around the city and it seemed like everywhere we went even outside of Boston we got stuck in traffic. One thing you may not know is Boston airport is in the city and on the coast so you really have to leave early to get there. We had to leave super early from Plymouth MA to get to our 9 am flight. Just something to keep in mind. Getting around on foot wasn’t difficult though. The #FreedomTrail made things SUPER simple! No phone navigation required. It takes you to all the major sights in the city. We broke ours up into three parts. We started at #Harvard for the #harvardnaturalhistorymuseum which had free street parking on Sunday. Next stop was brunch at Monument Restaurant near the #BunkerHillmonument and once again had free street parking. Totally worth the stop and to check off this part of the Freedom trail without having to walk the whole thing there and back. After that we parked at the garage in #BostonCommon . From there we continued our trip along the Freedom trail. Most details in the next post but this worked really well for our one day trip! ▫️

If you ever head to #CapeCod be sure to visit some #lighthouses , Park at the monument , make your way to the top for an amazing view, walk around #Provincetown , and grab some #lobstah at one of the many #Seafood Restaurants around #Ptown . At night it gets rowdy with lots of bars and dragshows! It’s a great visit even in the shoulder season. The weekend we went there was an Oyster Festival.

#UpstateNewYork is absolutely #gorgeous in the #fall ! Pair that with some fabulous #houses like the ones in #SaratogaSprings and you have a recipe for an amazing trip! We spent 5 days driving around towns and countryside #leafpeeping and visiting family. We had so much fun it may become a yearly tradition! ▫️

#Fall over the #HudsonRiver is one of the most glorious things to see. It’s absolutely stunning here! If you get a chance stay in #Rhinebeck #NY. It’s central to so many cool towns like #Woodstock. We had a blast eating at all the amazing restaurants around the area. ▫️

Key Lime Chai Cocktail at #CannonDistillery. The #drinks are great but that #iridescent glass is gorgeous! We actually got a tour of the #distillery this time through a hidden #BookcaseDoor! Definitely give them a try next time you’re in #Avondale. If you go on the tour you’ll see the largest American flag made of playing cards, so that’s something. ▫️
